Industrial Water Tanks

Fibreglass Industrial Water Tanks, Made in Australia

Mullaly designs and manufactures fibreglass (FRP) industrial water tanks for commercial and industrial sites, mining and resource projects, councils and infrastructure. Our tanks are rust and corrosion proof, designed to be 100% watertight and need no ongoing maintenance, so they suit sites where steel or concrete tanks corrode.

Industrial Water Storage Applications

Mullaly industrial water tanks are used for:

  • Factory wash-down and non-potable water storage, such as toilet flushing and irrigation
  • Rainwater harvesting and water reuse
  • Stormwater detention and retention
  • Overflow and emergency storage for pump stations
  • Fire protection water for sprinkler systems and dry-hydrant connections
  • Water storage for remote sites and accommodation villages

Underground Stormwater Detention Tanks

A stormwater detention tank holds runoff during heavy rain and releases it slowly, so the site does not overload the council drainage system. Many councils require on-site detention (OSD) for new commercial and industrial developments.

Mullaly FRP stormwater detention tanks are installed underground, so the ground above stays usable for car parks, driveways and landscaping. They are not limited by the water table, and their integral fibreglass ribs are designed for the soil and surface loads on each site. Outlets and interconnecting pipework can be supplied in PVC or fibreglass.

Sizes and Configurations

  • Single-wall and double-wall tanks
  • Single tank sizes from 5,000 to 150,000 litres, in diameters up to 3.28 m
  • Underground and select above-ground installations
  • Accessories to suit the application, including access risers, manways, inspection ports, FRP inspection ladders, baffles, and inlet, outlet, overflow and vent points
  • Single-tank and multiple-tank installations, connected with PVC or fibreglass pipework

Tell us the volume, site conditions and how the water will be used, and our team will recommend the right tank.

Why Choose a Fibreglass (FRP) Water Tank?

  • Corrosion-resistant to the surrounding soil and to stored liquids
  • Premium resin with no fillers, and no protective lining or coating needed
  • Designed to be 100% watertight, protecting the surrounding water table
  • No ongoing maintenance or inspections required
  • Integral, high-profile fibreglass ribs for structural strength
  • Lightweight, so a large-capacity tank can ship on one truck bed and be installed in remote locations and tight footprints
  • Australian made in Tomago NSW and Kwinana Beach WA

Industrial Water Tanks in Use

At Sydney Airport, Mullaly supplied a combined FRP wet well, valve pit and macerator pump station with two 85,000 litre overflow storage tanks. The whole system arrived on three semi-trailers and was lifted into place once excavation was complete. Read the Sydney Airport project or see more Mullaly projects.
