Background
The aircraft toilet waste dump site was moved to make room for airfreight pod storage.
Challenge
The existing waste dump pump station had to be replicated in a new spot next to the Cooks River, on reclaimed swamp land. The ballast had to suit constant wet-hole conditions and poor backfill. Installation had to be short to cut dewatering costs. The site was compact, busy and secure, so truck and crane visits had to be kept to a minimum.
What we supplied
A 3.0m dia x 5.0m deep wet well and valve pit combo with two 100mm discharge Homa pumps, supplied fully fitted out.
Result
It took under one hour from craning the pump station into the hole to having it levelled and ready for backfill. Crane time was short and less dewatering was needed.
