How the calculation works
In a sewage wet well, hydrogen sulphide gas forms sulphuric acid on the concrete above the water line. The acid eats into the concrete cover until it reaches the reinforcing. The calculator divides the cover by the corrosion rate you enter to find when the first relining falls due, then repeats it at the relining life you set.
Use corrosion rates measured on your own stations where you have them. A fibreglass wet well has no reinforcing to corrode and no need to seal or coat its surfaces.
